After graduating from the American Academy of Art in Chicago, Jon began his career in his hometown ,Springfield,Illinois.His work consisted of portraiture,figurative,landscapes and still lifes. Now, with more than 50 years of painting,studying the masters and teaching students, he has settled in Sarasota, Florida and become one of the Gulf Coast's premier portrait artist capturing the essencs of his subjects in charcoal,pastel and oil. Jon maintains a membership in the Portrait Society of America and has won numerious first place awards with art associations located in Florida. As a representational painter, his work can be viewed at Art Uptown, located in the heart of downtown Sarasota, main street.
